Our History

Music Club was established in August of the year 2008. Prior to the establishment, we are previously known as the Guitar Club.

The founders of Music Club:

• Ho Song Guang
• Yong Mun Hong
• Ng Zhi Lin
• John Kong Cheng Xin
• Chau Weng Yin
• Samson Looi

So, I'm dedicating this whole post to talk about the history and the origin of the Music Club idea.



The idea was hatched in the year 2007, by Ng Zhi Lin and the Guitar Club President at that time, Ho Song Guang. Initially, the idea was to form a music-related club that is totally different from the other clubs.

After a series of casual discussions, the plan was finally brought forth into action in the year 2008. It all had happened when all of the founders were coincidentally registered into the same class 4D, except John Kong who was in 4B.

One day, an accident happened, Ho Song Guang, who was transfered into 4D after about 3/4 of a month into the first semester, struck a topic with Ng Zhi Lin that quickly held the attention of the other founders, Yong Mun Hong, Samson Looi and Chau Weng Yin. And in the remaining time of that particular day, we sat down together and discussed about the possibilities of creating a new music club. We were all very excited, papers with random sketches of our ideas were scattered all around the tables as we discussed, ignoring the teachers totally!
